The US Grammy and BRIT Award nominated Zoo Brazil, better known as John Andersson, started producing and writing music at an early age and has released over 140 singles and 8 albums under such monikers as Zoo Brazil, Laid, Dead Cites, Cuba Computers, Nars, The Kelly Project, The Wiggs, Outcold and many more. Throughout his career John has steadily carved out a reputation for himself as one of dance music's most innovative and respected producers and DJs.
John's work has appeared on some of the best record labels in the world, from Get Physical Music, Toolroom, Ministry of Sound, Size, Great Stuff, Dessous and Renaissance, to Spinnin, Turbo, Sci/Tec, Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Systematic, Hed Kandi, Yoshitoshi, Black Hole Recordings, Wall of Sound and Armada Music. His music has also been featured on major labels as EMI, Warner Music, Universal Music, Sony and Virgin.
As a producer and song writer, John has seen huge success in the world of pop music having co written Kylie Minogue’s hit song "The One" featured on her 2007 album “X”. This album was nominated at the 51st annual US Grammy Awards for Best Electronic/Dance Album. “X” was also nominated for a BRIT Award for Best International Album, and to date has sold over 3 million copies. He also wrote the song "Zoo Brazil" ft Rasmus Kellerman - "There is Hope" which during 2011 was one of the most viewed songs on Youtube with over 27 million views in just 6 months.
Zoo Brazil continues to work with and remix some of music’s most influential artists including, Lana Del Ray, Moby, Inflames, Iamamiwhoami, Steve Angelo, Zombie Nation, Tiėsto, Fatboy Slim, Human League, Dannii Minogue, and Nitin Sawhney, as well as a host of the most respected and credible 'underground' dance acts such as James Holden, Ian Pooley, Rex the Dog, Blaze, Dirty Vegas, Lo Fidelity Allstars, Zoot Woman/Stuart Price (Madonna's producer) and many more.
As a DJ he has performed at highly acclaimed clubs including Ministry of Sound, Space and Pacha, and played underground clubs and festivals the world over in Australia, Europe, North and South America. 2011 was the year the Zoo Brazil mix compilation "Songs for Clubs" was released, harvesting amazing feedback. The follow up to his 2007 mix compilation was rated Album of the Month in MixMag and other renowned magazines.
During the 2nd half of 2012 new Zoo Brazil releases appeared on Defected, Tiga's Turbo label, Dubfire's Sci/Tec label, Deepreflect, Stealth, Toolroom, 303lovers, Kittball, Great Stuff, Spinnin, Joris Voorn“s Rejected Records, Toca45 and Black Hole Recordings. The latter will release Zoo Brazil's second artist album "Any Moment Now" on the Magik Muzik sub label. Keep a close eye on him, as Zoo Brazil's future is about to make it even bigger!
